TEHRAN – Iran participated in Iraq Gaming Expo 2025 (IGEX), Iraq’s first national exhibition dedicated to video games.
The Iranian gaming delegation that attended the event, which was held in Baghdad from October 9th to 11th, included game developers, officials and media activists from the Iranian gaming industry, Bajinegar reported.
Iranian representatives sat in the pavilion and presented their country’s creative achievements, capabilities of Iran’s digital industry, and young talents to international and Middle Eastern audiences.
Iran’s presence at the Expo demonstrates the determination of a young and creative generation to play an important role on the world stage. This provided a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s rich culture, stories and hidden talents through the progressive art industry of video games, especially in countries in the region.
The IGEX exhibition is considered one of the leading gaming events in the Middle East, and Iran’s participation was an important step towards wider recognition of this growing ecosystem.
One of the Iranian games announced at IGEX 2025 was “Enlight: Tale of Nora” developed by Mahva Studio. Another notable game is the online multiplayer title “Videl” from Sourena Games.
Enlight: Tale of Nora is an Iranian independent PC game. It combines puzzle solving and platform gameplay. Players are required to use both intelligence and dexterity to overcome obstacles and environmental puzzles.
The story follows Nora’s adventurous journey, including a great conflict between light and darkness, a war that will never end. The pure light once gifted to this land by wise elders now faces the shadow of greed and envy by those who are jealous of the sacred tree, its worshipers, and its guardians. This time, young Nora, with the help of the Roshana (Enlight) tree and the power of pure light, restores brightness, hope, and life to the forest and drives back the forces of darkness from her homeland and its oppressed people.
A playable demo of the game was unveiled at Mahva Studio’s booth during IGEX 2025. Designed in the puzzle platformer genre, the game combines the logical appeal of puzzles with the thrill of navigating two- and three-dimensional environments, and has a passionate fan base over the years.
“Videl” is Iran’s first cross-platform online game, a fast, colorful, and downright chaotic online arcade shooter. Two teams of five players clash for control of the lively streets of Fun Town, blasting them with guns and grenades as the rest of the city watches on in a circus of merry mayhem. It’s loud, explosive, and full of popcorn.
There are no heroes in this game, so players should forget about military tactics and uniforms. It’s a mafia family feud, starring a host of eccentric and wild characters, each with their own strange backstories, and two brothers ready to set the whole world on fire in their quest for control of the streets and their father’s legacy.
