TEHRAN – The Iranian Rhetoric Orchestra conducted by Reza Mariwand will hold a concert on Tuesday at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall featuring works by prominent classical music composers from around the world.
The Rhetoric Orchestra, which has performed numerous concerts in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall and Loudaki Hall, will perform Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 and Hayden’s Symphony No. 45, in addition to works by Schubert, Georges Bizet, Rossini and Offenbach, ISNA reported on Wednesday.
Farbod Latifi will be the concertmaster, and Esmail Mohammadi and Morteza Soltani will be the soloists.
Mozart’s Symphony No. 29 in A major is a shining example of this young composer’s mastery of classical form and expressive melody. Composed in 1774, this symphony showcases Mozart’s uncanny ability to combine elegant orchestration with lyrical themes. Its lively, optimistic character, combined with complex musical textures, reflects Mozart’s innovative approach to early symphonic composition. Symphony No. 29 remains a beloved piece, praised for its clarity, grace, and timeless beauty.
Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 in F sharp minor, also known as the “Farewell Symphony,” is one of the most famous works in the classical repertoire. Composed in 1772, it is known for its unique emotional depth and innovative structure, conveying a touching message of farewell. The symphony’s dramatic changes in dynamics and tempo, as well as the gradual retreat of the musicians from the stage, create a powerful story of longing and separation. This work not only exemplifies Haydn’s skill in orchestral storytelling, but also reflects the composer’s ability to infuse music with deep expressive meaning.
