TEHRAN – Several Iranian artists received awards for their artistic excellence at the 9th Kirkuk International Street Theater Festival held in Kirkuk, Iraq.
The festival, which ran from November 3 to 5, saw local, Arab and international theater companies compete for top honors, with three awards presented to Iranian contestants at the closing ceremony, IRNA reported.
In the adult category, the play “Is This Life or Pain?” will be performed. Director Mofideh Zarezadeh’s work was chosen by the jury as the best theatrical production.
In addition, the Best Design Award and Idea Award went to the performance art “Prometheus” by Alireza Amin Mozaffari.
In the children’s category, Solan Hosseini’s play “The Environmentalist” won the award for best child performance.
This year’s Kirkuk International Street Theater Festival included a wide range of theater companies and artists representing the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and 20 countries around the world, giving the event an international character and rich cultural diversity.
Performances showcased a wide range of artistic and linguistic expressions that reflected diverse human experiences and innovative production styles, transforming the festival into a vibrant platform for cultural and artistic exchange between nations.
