TEHRAN – Academy of Arts Director Majid Shah Hosseini and Chinese Ambassador to Iran Kong Peiw met in Tehran on Tuesday.
At the meeting, which was attended by the embassy secretary and several art academy officials, the two sides reviewed the history of cultural and artistic relations between the two countries, Irnar news agency reported.
They exchanged views and proposed solutions to implement the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding recently signed by the heads of art academies of the two countries. In addition, proposals were also made to strengthen cultural and artistic exchanges between the two civilizational realms of Iran and China.
During the meeting, Shah-Hosseini emphasized the scientific and artistic abilities of the Academy’s members as the core and most influential thought group of the Academy of Arts, as well as professional groups active in fields such as traditional art, contemporary art, and artificial intelligence. emphasized. , Art Futurism, Digital Art.
He stressed that China’s Belt and Road Initiative in West Asia will remain incomplete without cultural and artistic elements. Therefore, the Iranian Academy of Arts is keen on joint collaborations such as the film project “Maritime Silk Road 2”, the organization of biennial exhibitions aimed at countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, the translation of art books, cultural and artistic We also hold webinars to introduce the works of the artists. It engages in exchanges of historical art between the two countries, holds exhibitions of paintings by Chinese artist Zhu Huan, and holds specialized meetings with artists from both countries.
Shah-Hosseini asserted that such an initiative is in the interests of the ancient civilizations of both countries and can only be realized through practical steps taken by the art academies of both countries.
The Chinese ambassador expressed agreement with the Iranian side’s proposal, saying that cultural exchanges and civilizational exchanges play a fundamental role in strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries. He stressed that such dialogue and peaceful coexistence between civilizations will bridge gaps and reduce tensions.
“Our embassy fully supports the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two art academies of Iran and China and is ready to cooperate in various fields. “Today, the enrichment of the strategic Belt and Road Initiative will be achieved through cultural and artistic content,” said Cong Peiwu.
“Cultural cooperation between Iran and China has already begun. For example, the exhibition ‘The Wonders of Ancient Iran’ is currently being held in three major cities in China. Currently, more than 10 universities are training talented people in the field of Persian language education who will contribute to the future of bilateral relations. For this reason, we welcome all efforts to expand cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and China.”
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed the hope that the continuation of these relations will pave the way for further growth and expansion in the field of culture and art.
