TEHRAN – On Thursday evening, the 40th International Fazil Music Festival featured a joint performance by Iranian and Indian musicians at Vadat Hall in Tehran, showing off a fusion of Indo-Persian music.
The concert entitled “The Encounter” was organized by Iranian musician Vahid Airian. Famous Indian artists Amano Manish (slide guitar), Udey Lambdas (tabra), Pavan Shrikanth Naik (vocals and harmonium) are Iranian musicians Mojtaba Karantari Korami (DAF), Alireza We shared the stage with Shahabaji (guitar), vocalist/tumble player Naslin. Abdolvand, Sarina Amrollahi, Zahra Gomari, Leila Yekani, Babak Ghiasvand, Alireza Rostami, Mohammadreza Rostami.
The 40th International FAJR Music Festival is currently underway, bringing out a diverse lineup of international musicians. The performances are primarily held at Vadat Hall in Tehran.
Alongside Indian musicians, the festival presents talent from Turkey, Spain, the Netherlands, Tunisia and Armenia. Notable international participants include Turkish cellist Jamal Aliyev and pianist Ese Dadastan, and Spanish flamenco guitarists Daniel Casares and Antonio Maldonado.
The highlight of the festival is the story of Dutch Afro-Anatoria and a joint performance by Iranian Nush Band. The Afro-Anatolia story includes Sjahin and Bram Stadshouders from the Netherlands and Bence Huszar from Hungary. Nushe Band features Iranian musicians Niusha Barimani, Rokhsareh Rostami, Niloofar Ebrahimi, Donya Fathi, Azin Malekzadeh and Setareh Hatef.
Additionally, Armenia’s Levon Tebanyan and Tunisia’s Farah Fersi are also taking part in the global event.
The 40th International Fazil Music Festival is organized by the Arts Issues of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Leader in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Iranian Music Association and the Music Bureau of Rudaki Foundation.
Showing and respecting the best works of Iranian musicians, promoting the art of music, strengthening audience preferences and listening culture, maintaining a national identity rooted in religious and Iranian teachings, especially the younger generations. We aim to support ideas and performance by. Identify and enhance the shapes and content quality of music in a variety of genres.
In addition to international participants, 100 Iranian bands, including over 1,400 musicians, will be appearing at the festival this year.
The festival is divided into two competitive and non-competitive sections and will continue in Tehran until February 17th.
