TEHRAN – Renowned Iranian translator Assadollah Amrai shared a deeply patriotic message on national defense, drawing a response full of solidarity from Mexican author Alberto Chimal.
In a recent post on his personal social media page, Amrai expressed his unwavering commitment to Iranian soldiers defending the country from foreign aggression. “I don’t have the strength to fight, but I would rather be a sandbag in the trenches of the defenders of my homeland than be buried under the earth,” Amrai wrote.
The veteran translator’s emotional remarks, reflecting the high morale of Iranian culture, quickly attracted international attention.
In a show of global solidarity, renowned Mexican author Alberto Chimal responded to Amray’s post. Expressing concern and support as the war against Iran started by the United States and the Zionist regime continues, Chimal wrote: “Dear Mr. Assad, I hope you and your family are well. We (millions of people around the world) hope that the madness ends soon.”
This exchange highlighted the bridge between global literary figures and the Iranian people, with international artists joining in to denounce the invasion.
Amray is widely known in Iran as a translator of numerous works of modern world literature, and Timal is one of Mexico’s most prominent contemporary writers and essayists.
